Blue Heron Acquisitions exists to give the owners of established small businesses a sensible alternative to closing the doors or selling to a stranger. We buy local companies outright, take on operational responsibility, and run them with the same care the founder built them with. We are not a private-equity fund, a roll-up, or a broker — we are a small, locally accountable team that puts its own capital, time, and reputation behind every business it acquires.

Blue Heron Acquisitions is headquartered in Fremont County, Wyoming. We live where we work. Our kids go to school here, we buy groceries from the businesses on Main Street, and we run into the people we do business with at the post office, the feed store, and on the trails outside town.
That proximity is the point. When we buy a business, we are not flying in from a coastal office to manage a spreadsheet. We are taking on a company whose customers, employees, and suppliers are our neighbors. The standard we hold ourselves to is the standard a small community quietly enforces on its own: do what you said you would do, treat people the way you want to be treated, and stick around long enough to be judged on your results.
Wyoming is also a deliberate choice. It is a state that still rewards businesses built on long time horizons, modest overhead, and a handshake that means something. Those are the kinds of businesses we want to own, and the kind of buyer we work hard to be.
Our philosophy.
We don’t believe local business succession should mean selling to the highest bidder, no matter location. We don’t believe a business that’s served a community for decades should be liquidated for parts. And we don’t believe the only buyer for a small local business has to be someone who’s never set foot in Wyoming.
