This process is designed around you. Not us.

Step 1 — The conversation

It starts with a conversation.

Send us a message or give us a call. We’ll set up a time to talk — coffee in person if you’re nearby, a phone call if that’s easier. No paperwork. No commitments. We just want to learn about you and your business. Most first conversations last 30–60 minutes, and the only goal is to figure out whether we’d be a good fit to keep talking.

Step 2 — Understanding the business

Then we learn together.

If both sides want to keep going, we’ll ask for some financial information — recent tax returns, profit and loss statements, basic operating details. All of this stays confidential, protected by a mutual NDA we’ll sign before anything is shared. We typically spend 2–4 weeks at this stage, depending on the complexity of the business.

Step 3 — Offer and negotiation

An honest offer, with room to talk.

When we’ve done our homework, we make an offer. It will be fair, it will be honest, and it will reflect what your business is actually worth — not a lowball, not a fantasy number. From there, we negotiate openly. Deal structure is flexible: cash at close, seller financing, earn-outs, a transition role for you — we work with what makes sense for your situation.

Step 4 — Transition

A handoff that protects what you built.

Once we agree on terms and close the deal, the transition begins. Employees keep their jobs — that’s non-negotiable for us. Vendors and customers see continuity, not chaos. You can stay on in an advisory role if you want, or step away cleanly — your call. Most transitions take 60–90 days from close to full handoff.

What we look for.

We’re a small firm, so we’re selective.

We’re most interested in:

  • Businesses based in Fremont County, especially Riverton and Lander
  • Profitable, with positive annual revenue
  • Owner-operated or small-team operated
  • In industries we understand: retail, hospitality, services, light manufacturing, trades

We generally don’t pursue:

Common questions.

Will my employees keep their jobs?

Yes. This is one of our core commitments. We don’t acquire businesses to gut them — we acquire them to keep them running.

How long does the whole process take?

From first conversation to closing, typically 3–6 months. Faster is possible. Slower is fine too.

What if I change my mind partway through?

You can walk away at any point before closing, no questions asked. We’d rather find that out before a deal closes than after.

Will this become public?

Not unless and until we both decide it should. Everything stays private until close.

Can I stay involved after the sale?

Yes, if you want to. Some sellers stay on for 6 months as a consultant; others step away the day of close. We tailor it to you.

How do you determine the value of my business?

Honestly — based on cash flow, assets, market conditions, and the realities of selling a small local business. We’ll show our work.

What about my customers and vendors?

We work with you on a communication plan. Most often, customers and vendors don’t notice anything has changed beyond a new face at the helm.

Have a conversation. No obligation.

Whatever you’re thinking, we’re ready to listen. Everything stays between us.
